The inspiration behind Lighthouse Search originated from reflecting on the purpose lighthouses served when large vessels were the only means of global transport and exploration.

These vessels carried valuable cargo and people. They were manned by capable crews and captains but occasionally needed assistance from lighthouses to help them navigate away from treacherous waters. This guidance undoubtedly saved lives, but also helped these seafarers avoid future mistakes in gaining access to these key ports.

In many ways there are similarities between how a captain and crew man their vessel through treacherous waters and how senior leadership teams navigate today’s complex commercial world. Bad decisions can derail a team, division or whole organisation, resulting in compromised culture, shareholder confidence and company value.
